Kennel Manager

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Boarding Kennel Manager to join our leadership team at VCA Pike Creek Animal Hospital. We are a busy veterinary hospital that also offers boarding and bathing services. At VCA Pike Creek, we pride ourselves on being an establishment that has been at the forefront of the community for over 30 years. Offering top notch standard of care to clients and patients alike, along with employee enrichment, has been and always will be a hospital priority.

The Kennel Manager is responsible for assisting in hiring, training and scheduling staff for all weekday and weekend shifts, including all major holidays and school breaks.  In addition, they are responsible for monitoring the well-being of all pets in their care, ensuring adequate record keeping and monitoring of feeding schedules and medication administration is done in conjunction with hospital technical staff.
The Manager will ensure that laundry, bathing and other tasks are completed in a timely basis. They also work with staff to provide excellent customer service while booking appointments, during drop off and pick up of pets. Finally, the Supervisor will direct other projects within the hospital under the guidance of the management team.
 
Minimum Requirements
• Prior Animal Care Experience.
• Knowledge of dog and cat body language and behavior.
• General animal care and handling experience.
• You are required to ensure staff receives information from the previous shift and then communicate information to the next shift.
• You must be able to communicate well across different departments, with the hospital staff, and with clients. Communication is in-person, by phone, through client file notes, and via e-mail and text-message.

Some weekends, nights and holidays are required.

 
Preferred (but not required) Qualifications 
• 1+ years Veterinary or Boarding Facility experience.
• 1+ years Supervisory experience in an animal-related field.

Pay varies on experience and can range from $18.50-$22.00, based on experience.
