Title: Ken Garff for Good - Marketing Intern  

Location: Ken Garff Corp Office 

Reports to: Director of Marketing and Events

Required Travel: Occasional, Local 

We are a statewide nonprofit foundation based in downtown Salt Lake City that offers its employees creativity, autonomy, and the opportunities to change lives.   

Mission:  

The mission of Ken Garff for Good is to provide a pathway to college or careers. We do this through literacy, technology and mentoring programs, and exposure to scholarships, internships, and careers 

Programs and Purposes:  

The purpose of Keys to Success is to motivate students to unlock their future by connecting them to scholarships, internships, and careers.  The purpose of Road to Success is to improve literacy skills of K-5 grade students through incentivized daily reading.  The purpose of Women Who Succeed is to provide opportunities for girls and young women to grow confidence and leadership skills.  The purpose of Ken Garff Esports is to enhance and enrich scholastic experiences through and beyond gaming.  

Marketing Intern Job Responsibilities:

Support the Ken Garff for Good Marketing Manager with smaller graphic design projects. Usually in Canva and/or Adobe IllustratorSupport the ongoing rebrand efforts for Ken Garff for GoodCoordinating orders for updated physical collateral: stationary, business cards, swag, signage, etc.Updating digital collateralSupporting internal and external messaging Social Media coordinationDevelop content calendars for program social media pagesLead out content creation with the guidance of the Marketing ManagerEngage with followers to boost performanceReport out on social media progress and findingsNewsletter Updates and SupportSupport the Marketing Manager in updating and sending out the Ken Garff for Good and Women Who Succeed newsletters each month.Collect and organize contentUpdate in MailchimpCoordinate audience updates with teamKen Garff for Good Event Support – Photography and social mediaSupport events by gathering content and posting on socials at the time of events to gain more excitement around eventsSupport Marketing Manager post-event by sorting through photos, editing photos, and adding to appropriate folders for team to accessEnsure Ken Garff for Good and program websites are up to date, and support smaller updates via Wordpress

Skills and Qualifications

Studying or interest in studying Marketing, Strategic Communications, Graphic Design, Business, or a related field.Experience with Canva and graphic designExperience with social media and content creationStrong writing skillsExperience with the following is preferred but not required:MailchimpAdobe Creative SuiteVideo editingPhoto editingWordpress or website support

Other Work Conditions:   

This position requires occasional travel, primarily local and during business hours, although some occasional out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected. Reasonable accommodations will be made to allow individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions
