Junior System Developer

DescriptionThe Junior Systems Developer will support the development and maintenance of internal tools for both front-end applications and SQL backend processes. The same will work closely with senior developers and business teams to troubleshoot issues, improve existing solutions, and help document technical changes.

Key Responsibilities\nAssist in the development, maintenance, and enhancement of front-end applications for internal users.\nWrite, optimise, and debug complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions for backend data processing.\nInvestigate and troubleshoot application issues, providing timely fixes and workarounds.\nDocument code changes, technical specifications, and user guides.\nCollaborate with senior developers and business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.\nSupport quality control efforts by creating test cases and executing tests.\nStay up-to-date with emerging technologies and propose improvements to existing
processes and tools.\n

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise\nFamiliarity with core data architecture principles, including data modelling, schema design, normalisation, and best practices for scalable, high-performance database structures.\nExperience or coursework in VB.NET development.\nFamiliarity with version control systems (Git).\nBasic knowledge of UI/UX principles.\nExposure to scripting or automation using PowerShell or Python.\nKnowledge of SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) or other reporting tools.\nUnderstanding of the Fund industry, Finance or Business acumen in general.\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience). Or a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, with a strong interest in Computer Science.\nHands-on experience (academic, internship, or professional) with VBA for applications.\nSolid understanding of relational databases and T-SQL (writing efficient queries, stored procedures, transaction handling).\nStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.\nGood communication skills, both written and verbal, with an ability to work well in a team environment.\nEagerness to learn new languages and frameworks.\n
