Junior Specialist, Customer Master Data

Purpose of the position


As a Junior Specialist, Customer Master Data at Hiab, you'll be the backbone of our customer data operations—ensuring that every detail is accurate, reliable, and ready to drive smooth business transactions around the world. From setting up new customer accounts to keeping our records clean and current, your work will directly impact sales, invoicing, and service performance across regions.

This role is your gateway into the world of master data and global operations. You’ll collaborate with finance, sales, IT, and customer service teams, gaining firsthand experience with SAP and other business-critical systems. You'll also get to explore how data fuels the order-to-cash process and play an active role in identifying process improvements. Main tasks and responsibilities

 

Create and maintain customer records, including account creation, updates, and master data service requests

Process and manage tickets from third-party service providers and internal stakeholders

Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams such as Credit & Collections, Accounts Receivable, Customer Service, Sales Support, and IT to ensure accurate and timely customer data updates

Perform daily transactional activities related to Customer Master Data with minimal supervision

Support customer-related transactions by ensuring master data changes are reflected correctly across systems

Ensure data consistency and integrity across the Order-to-Cash process and related systems

Participate in system enhancements by providing data-related input and supporting testing and implementation activities

Monitor the accuracy and completeness of customer data, especially during Period End Closing (PEC)

Identify recurring issues and support the Team Lead in escalation and resolution efforts

Proactively suggest improvements to increase efficiency and data quality

Ensure all activities are conducted in full compliance with company policies, internal controls, and legal regulations

Contribute to overall data governance by promoting best practices and a strong data quality mindset

What you’ll need to succeed

 

Education

Minimum Bachelor Degree in Economics, Business, Finance or related, obtained or currently in progress.

Experience

0 -1 years of experience of relevant experience in an international environment

Competencies

Detail-oriented

Strong customer service focus and interpersonal skills

Strong analytical, problem solving, organizational and communication skills

Time Management and ability to prioritise

SAP experience is an advantage

Proficiency in computer applications including Microsoft Excel (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP, Charts), Powerpoint and process mapping tools, Google Workspace

Full professional proficiency of written and oral English required

Display a strong work ethic and ability to comply with internal controls and policies
