MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented **Junior Software Engineer** to join our team in **Chantilly, VA.**
**Responsibilities include but are not limited to:**
As a Junior Software Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting the development and delivery of secure, impactful software solutions for our government clients. Your contributions will directly assist in enhancing operational efficiency and data integrity, fostering a collaborative environment focused on learning and growth.
+ Implement new features, enhancements, and bug fixes for web applications and services under the guidance of senior engineers, adhering to established design patterns and coding standards.
+ Participate in testing, debugging, and troubleshooting efforts to ensure the performance, security, and availability of our software products.
+ Actively engage in code reviews, learn about secure coding practices, and contribute to the team's adoption of CI/CD pipelines and automated testing strategies.
+ Work effectively within an Agile framework, contributing to team discussions, sprint planning, and daily stand-ups to deliver value iteratively.
+ Assist in creating and maintaining technical documentation and clearly communicate progress and challenges to team members and stakeholders.
**Minimum Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's degree in a technical field with 2+ years, or Master's degree with 0+ years, of professional software engineering experience.
+ Demonstrated understanding of web application and web service development principles, with practical experience in coding, debugging, and testing.
+ Proficiency in at least 1 of the following programming languages: Python, JavaScript / Typescript
+ Familiarity with fundamental concepts related to containers (Docker / Kubernetes), cloud services (AWS), version control (Git), databases (SQL / NoSQL), and automated testing.
+ Experience working as part of an Agile software development team.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Current CompTIA Security+ certification.
+ Professional experience with modern front-end frameworks like Angular.
+ Basic understanding or exposure to Continuous Integration (CI), Continuous Delivery/Deployment (CD), and automated testing concepts.
+ Hands-on experience with specific databases such as PostgreSQL or Elasticsearch.
+ Professional software development experience supporting DOD or Intelligence Community clients or other relevant classified software development work experience.
+ Demonstrated strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
**Clearance Requirements:**
+ Must have a current/active TS/SCI with Polygraph
**Physical Requirements:**
+ Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
+ Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery
+ Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations
