Is this role for you?
Working alongside the Channel 5 programme planning team, ratings, media planning, broadcast operations, continuity and compliance teams, the Junior Scheduler is responsible for building and executing accurate schedules for transmission.
What will you be doing?
• Carry out daily checklist to prepare accurate schedules for sending to playout providers.
• Process commercial spot files from the sales team and send complete and accurate schedules to playout providers.
• Input continuity items and information, to specific deadlines and liaise with continuity producers, to ensure all scripting information is accurate and up to date.
• Collaborate with the sponsorship team, to update rotations and process credits efficiently and schedule them precisely.
• To view and log programmes for linear and VOD channels, considering transitions, commercial compliance, and editorial judgements.
• Work with internal departments to ensure weekly and daily deadlines are met.
• Cover for other department members when they are absent.
• Assist broadcast operations with the Technical Quality Check (TQC) of programmes when required.
• Embrace the ‘One Paramount’ approach and encourage collaboration and team working.
• Be an ambassador for all Paramount channels, internally and externally.
• Adopt and promote the Paramount values and support a culture of inclusion.
We need you to have?
• Experience within the broadcasting industry
• Some knowledge/experience of WHATS’ON or other scheduling systems preferred
• Good PC skills including Microsoft packages
• Display initiative and be adaptable to change
• Be able to prioritise effectively and display strong organisational skills
• Excellent team working skills
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to deal with different levels within the company
• Have a proactive approach to finding creative and diplomatic solutions
• The ability to work to deadlines and remain calm under pressure
• Be prepared to take on additional responsibility when required
