Position Description:

Currently, we are planning to extend our Budapest branch and therefore we are seeking skilled and motivated Junior Network Operations Engineers with German language proficiency to join our dynamic IT infrastructure team. This role is essential to maintaining and enhancing the stability, security, and performance of our network systems. You will be responsible for incident and problem management, proactive monitoring, and continuous improvement of our LAN/WLAN environments.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Perform incident and problem management, including root cause analysis.
• Monitor infrastructure components using Icinga and other tools.
• Design and document highly available LAN/WLAN environments.
• Administer and optimize network topologies and security measures (e.g., port security, TLS/SSL, IPSec).
• Plan and execute regular firmware and patch rollouts.
• Maintain operational documentation and contribute to knowledge bases.
• Support internal teams and customers with infrastructure-related issues.
• Operate firewalls and load balancer systems to ensure secure and efficient network segmentation.
• Collaborate with vendors, customers, and cross-functional teams.
• Provide 24/7 support for network systems and infrastructure on a rotation basis.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Minimum 1-3 yrs of experience with the following tools & technologies:
• Subnet & VLAN Management
• Routing/Switching: OSPF, BGP, RIP, EIGRP
• Cisco Prime, Extreme Management Systems, Cisco ISE
• Icinga 2, FNT Command
• Ansible, Powershell, Python
• Wireshark, Linux
• Wireless technologies (802.11 standards, controllers)

Professional qualifications and technical skills

• Networking Basics: LAN, VPN, VLAN, DHCP, DNS
• Routing & Switching: OSPF, EIGRP, STP, basic BGP
• Security: Firewalls, NAC
• Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Wireshark, Icinga, Cisco Prime
• Automation: Basic scripting
• Wireless: Basic Wi-Fi setup, troubleshooting
• Linux skills

Soft Skills
• Fluent English verbal and written
• proficiency in German is not mandatory, however it will significantly support success in a German-speaking team setting (willingness to learn the language is necessary)
• Problem solving: Basic troubleshooting and issue resolution
• Documentation: Visio, MS Sharepoint, ITSM
• Collaboration: Supporting senior engineers, teamwork
• Learning mindset: Willingness to learn and grow in the role

Certifications:
• CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate)
