Job Description

GDIT is seeking a Database Analyst Associate to support secured government communications in Bluemont, VA.  The role will be responsible for a wide variety of server administration roles.

How a Database Analyst Associate will make an impact:

Design, deploy, and manage Microsoft SQL Server.Design and configure VMware virtual services.Perform full system upgrades and repairs to Microsoft SQL databases, associated host virtual machines, and the hosting virtual environment.Troubleshoot and repair faults within the Microsoft SQL Server and Windows Server environments.Maintain hardware and software inventory lists to include applications licensing and all associated maintenance and support contracts.Evaluate and install required security patches and systems security updates.Create user and admin accounts with specific access privileges.Implement and maintain group policies specific to MS SQL and MS Server.Plan and manage database specific taskings and exercises associated with systems security plans, disaster recovery plans, and contingency plans.

Required Skills:

Intermediate experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2019.Intermediate experience with Microsoft Windows Server 2019.Intermediate experience with VMware VSphere 7 or later.Intermediate experience with Microsoft Active Directory and DNS Services.Intermediate experience with Security Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIG).

Desired Skills:

Experience with SolarWinds Orion platform deployments and associated SQL database integrations.Experience with SolarWinds Applications and development of custom dashboards.Experience with TrendMicro Deep Security Manager.Advanced experience with relational databases and performing database administration using SQL.

Skills: Information Systems, System Administration, Database Operations

Certifications: CompTIA Security +

Education/Experience: Associate’s degree in IT/CIS or 2+ years of related experience
