We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior/Medior Support Engineer to join our Application Management Services (AMS) team. The role focuses on supporting legacy applications (Java 8 and above) in a mission-critical environment. The candidate will primarily act as an Incident Manager, coordinating and resolving incidents, ensuring service continuity, and maintaining strong communication between IT and business stakeholders.
Your future duties and responsibilities:• Act as first point of coordination for incidents affecting Java-based legacy applications.
• Perform incident classification, prioritization, escalation and communication in line with ITIL standards.
• Analyze logs, system behavior, and error patterns using Linux tools and SQL queries to support root cause identification.
• Closely cooperate with developers, testers, solution architects and business analysts during troubleshooting and resolution.
• Ensure proper incident documentation in JIRA/Service Desk tools and maintain knowledge base articles in Confluence.
• Prepare incident and operational reports using MS Excel, including trend analysis and KPIs.
• Participate in on-call support rotation for high priority (P1/P2) incidents.
• Coordinate with external vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure timely resolution.
• Propose improvements to monitoring, incident handling, and preventive measures.
• Technical background with focus on Java 8+ applications, SQL databases, Linux environments.
• Experience with IT service management processes (incident, problem, change management).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to quickly understand complex application landscapes.
• Excellent communication and coordination abilities – able to manage conversations with both technical teams and business users.
• Practical experience with JIRA and Confluence.
• Solid knowledge of Excel (data analysis, pivot tables, reporting).
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team-oriented environment.
• Language skills: Czech/Slovak and English (spoken and written).
• Knowledge of Cloud applications and DevOps practices in Azure (CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, deployment).
Nice-to-Have
• Familiarity with ITIL framework and AMS operations.
• Understanding of application monitoring tools (e.g., Splunk, Grafana, ELK).
• Basic scripting (e.g., Bash, Python) for automation of routine tasks.
• Previous experience in Incident Manager or Support Engineer role.
• German language (spoken/written) is an advantage.
