Location: Nederland, Colorado

Eldora is the backyard winter mountain playground for Greater Denver, Boulder County, and Colorado's northern Front Range. Eldora is located just outside of the charming mountain town of Nederland, Colorado, about 20 miles west of Boulder and less than 50 miles from downtown Denver.

Eldora strives to deliver Colorado’s Front Range the most memorable outdoor adventures to locals and out-of-town visitors.   Eldora Mountain Resort employs up to 700 employees at peak season and has 680 acres of lift-accessible terrain for skiing and snowboarding, including a Woodward Mountain Park experience, and a world class Nordic Center.

This position is for high school students ages 15-17.

Position Summary: Ski & Ride School Junior Instructors are friendly, welcoming, and inclusive all while providing unparalleled customer service experiences for our youngest guests.  They provide our instructors with support indoors and outdoors with our children’s programs and daily youth lesson guests.  Our Junior Instructors work throughout the season and ensure the best possible experience for the Eldora guest by helping with equipment prep, supervising lunch, escorting children to their class, riding chairlifts with students and assisting children with other needs.  Junior Instructors work on an individual basis and as a part of the Eldora team in a support role. Previous experience with teaching/coaching/mentoring children or customer service preferred. 

Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:

Must love working with kids ages 4-6 and can communicate effectively with children to build trust and have fun. 

Must be able to share your love working with children in a safe and effective manner. 

Have a desire to learn and develop personal skills by attending our free, ongoing ski & snowboard training. 

Live the Eldora culture of being welcoming and inclusive while abiding by our policies. 

Maintain the appearance and cleanliness of the Children’s Center. 

Work with the SRS team in teaching and non-teaching duties 

Must be able to access daily schedules and company notices electronically.

Must have empathy and patience. 

Must be willing to teach any age range (child through adult).

Must be able to work weekends and holidays as required by resort operations.

This position is a seasonal position and may have fluctuations in hours worked based upon overall business volumes.  

Specific Job Skills:

Ability to ski and ride well, but we are looking for a ‘people person’ who has the desire to develop their personal skiing and/or riding skills. 

Able to work long and irregular hours including weekends and holidays. 

Must be an excellent communicator and work well with others in and outside of the SRS department. 

Previous experience working with children (4-14yr olds) preferred. 

Must be able to obtain Junior Instructor certification from PSIA-AASI by Jan 1, 2026

Ability to pass a background check by company standards.

Physical Demands:

Bending, reaching, climbing, pushing, pulling & prolonged standing 

Eye/hand coordination & visual concentration on equipment 

Concentrated reading and writing 

Must be able to lift and carry items up to 50 lbs.  

Extended periods of outdoor exposure   

Extreme cold, extreme heat and sun exposure  

Variation in temperature from hot to cold

Schedule:

Non-Peak Days (M-F): 8:30am-4:00pm

Peak Days (Sa/Sun/Holidays): 8:30am-4:00pm

This schedule represents an average work week and is subject to change based on guest volume, operational needs, and weather conditions.

Compensation & Benefits:

Compensation: Proposed hiring rate of $16.57, actual pay will be adjusted based on experience. 

Benefits: This is a seasonal position eligible for season pass for employees/dependents and privileges at several other resorts.  Several discount programs (i.e. food & beverage, retail/rental, tickets, etc.) also available.
