Job Description

As a Field Service Engineer, you will provide customer support and engineering services through small projects, on-site installations, troubleshooting, service, and equipment repair. You will work with our customers to maintain efficient and productive manufacturing systems.

We are looking for someone with vision, creativity, technical engineering expertise, and a willingness to travel. You can ensure that all parts of a system work together to perform the desired application. We are looking for ownership of complete systems or solutions, including Rockwell Automation (RA), third-party, and user components—not just individual parts. You will also increase the application of the full RA product portfolio to meet customer needs.

Your Responsibilities:

Perform field service work, including:

Engineering assistance (application, programming specifications)Installation, startup, integration, system optimization, maintenance, and warranty implementationTroubleshoot hardware and software issues on-siteProvide technical assistance and coordination of RA products and systems:On-site analysis and specification preparationHardware configuration and system/product applicationProgramming supportProject coordination between customers, OEMs, sales, and product divisionsTechnical support for field start-up, integration, and maintenanceDocumentation and reporting

The Essentials - You Will Have:

University degree in Engineering (Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent) or trade qualification with additional tertiary educationValid Australian Driver's LicenceEngineering and field experienceThe ability to deliver technical presentations to all partnersBackground in automationUnderstanding of PLC systems and networking

The Preferred - You Might Also Have:

Experience as a Control Specialist or Power SpecialistExperience working with sales teams and customersStrong collaboration skillsMature, enthusiastic, team-oriented, and customer-focusedOn-site experience in the Mining or Oil & Gas sectorsVCAT2 or higher qualificationExperience with Variable Speed Drives (VSDs)Experience with FactoryTalk software packagesDetailed knowledge of OT networks and switch configurationA Grade Electrical Licence
