Job Title: Junior Sourcing & Procurement Specialist Job Description The Junior Sourcing & Procurement Specialist is responsible for supporting supplier sourcing activities, managing purchase orders, and ensuring timely delivery of components and materials to support manufacturing operations. This role is primarily focused on identifying and qualifying suppliers, supporting RFQ/RFP processes, and contributing to cost competitiveness, while handling day-to-day procurement execution including purchase order management and supplier coordination. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and eager to develop their sourcing skill set in a fast-paced OEM environment. Responsibilities + Create, issue, and manage purchase orders for production components, materials, and indirect goods in the ERP system. + Monitor open orders, track deliveries, and expedite as needed to meet production schedules. + Confirm lead times, pricing, and delivery commitments with suppliers, escalating discrepancies promptly. + Resolve invoice discrepancies and support accounts payable as needed. + Maintain accurate purchasing records, item costs, and vendor data in the ERP system. + Assist in preparing and issuing RFQs/RFPs and compile and summarize supplier quotes for review. + Support identification and initial evaluation of alternate suppliers under the direction of upper management team members. + Assist with supplier onboarding documentation and qualification activities. + Gather market pricing data to support cost benchmarking and savings initiatives. + Serve as a day-to-day point of contact for supplier communication on open orders and delivery issues. + Partner with Engineering, Operations, and Quality to support component releases, ECOs, and supply-related issues. + Communicate supply risks or shortages to internal stakeholders proactively. + Support value engineering and cost-down efforts by coordinating supplier input and data collection. Essential Skills + Purchasing and vendor sourcing experience. + Proficiency with ERP systems. + Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables. + Experience in procurement and supply chain management. + Ability to manage purchase orders and inventory. + Vendor negotiation and sourcing expertise. + Familiarity with bill of materials. Additional Skills & Qualifications + 2+ years of purchasing/sourcing experience, including internships. + An AA degree with at least 4 years of experience or ideally a BA. + Experience in negotiations and vendor sourcing. + Familiarity with RFQs and multilevel BOMs. + NPI experience, customs/trade compliance, and Jira are a plus. Work Environment The work environment is a manufacturing facility with over 200 employees, primarily hourly workers on the manufacturing floor and in the warehouse. The role is 100% onsite, with working hours from 6:30-7am, including a daily team meeting at 7 am. The position involves splitting time between the office and the production floor. The team is undergoing a restructure, providing opportunities for growth and leadership as the sourcing and purchasing functions are brought in-house. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Anaheim, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $26.50 - $35.00/hr.
