Job Title: Research Financial Analyst (Junior Accountant Role)Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Research Financial Analyst to join our team temporarily. This role focuses on assisting with the Payment and Cheque Deposit Review responsibilities, addressing a current backlog, and ensuring accurate financial operations.

ResponsibilitiesEnsure cheques are deposited into the correct accounts, addressing any backlog issues.Investigate unknown payments and deposits, contacting payors to confirm payment details and request remittance advices.Review and process payment/expense requisitions and ensure receipts are attached in accordance with expense and signing authority policies.Manage and support the email inbox, ensuring timely communication with senior leadership.Assist with the deposit process and electronic filing system management.Essential SkillsProficiency in journal entries, debits, credits, bookkeeping, data entry, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger.Basic Excel skills, including handling spreadsheets and basic formulas. Candidates must complete Basic Excel Testing with a score of 80 or above.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Comfortable with technology, learning systems, reconciliation, financial statement preparation, and bank reconciliation.Additional Skills & QualificationsAttention to detail and efficiency in task completion.Strong communication skills with the ability to convey information concisely.Work Environment

This position offers a hybrid work model, requiring attendance in the office once a week or potentially less, with flexibility for remote work. Located at Shooter & Victoria, the standard work week is 37.5 hours, with typical hours from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, with flexibility if needed. Overtime is not expected. You will work alongside two other Financial Analysts and may interact with the Team Lead.

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
