Brief Description of PSU/School/Dept The Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art at Portland State University (JSMA at PSU) aspires to create an environment that sparks creativity, shares perspectives, and stirs curiosity. By providing free access to rich, inclusive, and interdisciplinary programming, JSMA at PSU creates space for new audiences and seasoned supporters to engage with art and artists while re-imagining the potential for university museums. Position Summary The Program and Outreach Coordinator will provide the director and assistant director outreach, program, and communication assistance. This position will coordinate programs and events for exhibitions at the museum and identify and engage with PSU and Portland audiences. In addition, this position will work closely with the assistant director to implement the museum’s communications plan for each exhibition. Minimum Qualifications from Classification - Three years of office experience which included two years at full performance level and experience generating documents; AND

- Lead work responsibility or coordination of office procedures. Additional Minimum Qualifications for this Position Position requirements include: 1 year working in a museum or arts institution 1 year experience giving tours 1 year experience providing administrative or program assistance Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in art history, art, humanities or related field 2 years working in a museum or arts institution 2 years of experience giving tours 2 years of experience providing administrative or program assistance Key Cultural Competencies Creates an environment that acknowledges, encourages and celebrates differences.

Work Days/Hours Includes some Saturday and Evening hours for programs Total Compensation Range & Benefits Statement Salary is dependent on several factors, and new employees will typically start around the Q1 level to allow for later growth within the salary band. PSU has a structured process for determining starting compensation, taking into account years of related experience, applicable skills, knowledge and abilities, market parity, and internal equity. The starting annual salary for this position will be $40,934 – 46,592 but may be negotiated above this rate dependent upon the factors above, the budget of the hiring department, and approval from HR.
