Jr. Naval Architect/Marine Engineer

As part of our BAE Systems Jacksonville Ship Repair (JSR) team, you will be working alongside some of the industry's top talent on the forefront of technology. + We are currently hiring for an entry level Naval Architect/Marine Engineer that will support our Engineering Services Division (ESD) and our Manufacturing and Fabrication functions. + The selected candidatewill also interact with our team members within our company such as dockmasters, program management team members (ship superintendents, project managers, program managers, etc.), craft managers, craft supervisors, safety and environmental employees and customers representatives. **Required Education, Experience, & Skills** + Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Ocean Engineering, or a related field (such as Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Civil Engineering) + 0-3 years of experience in the field of naval architecture or marine engineering, + Coursework in subjects such as: + Ship design and construction + Hydrodynamics and hydrostatics + Materials science and structural analysis + Propulsion systems and machinery + Marine systems and equipment + Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software, such as: + AutoCAD + Rhino + CATIA + Familiarity with computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and finite element analysis (FEA) tools, such as: + ANSYS + OpenFOAM + Abaqus + Knowledge of industry standards and regulations, such as: + American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) + International Maritime Organization (IMO) + U.S. Coast Guard + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in a team environment + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders + Professional certification, such as: + Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification + Professional Engineer (PE) license (may be required for senior roles or after a certain number of years of experience) + Participation in internships, co-op programs, or research projects related to naval architecture or marine engineering can be beneficial for gaining practical experience and making industry connections. **Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills** + Strong written and oral communication skills + Ability to work collaboratively across departmental lines + Highly organized and proficient in project management + Excellent problem solving and time management skills + Proven ability to motivate and influence teammates to drive organizational change + Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, and Outlook **Pay Information** Full-Time Salary Range: $57866 - $98372 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
