**Job Title: Journeyman Welder** **Job Description** We are seeking a highly skilled Journeyman Welder with advanced knowledge of SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, and BRAZE techniques. The ideal candidate will have the ability to determine proper weld joint design independently and perform Non-Destructive Testing, general welding, brazer and procedure qualifications. Familiarity with 009-23 interference, NAVSEA Standard item 009-12 table I and II, as well as the ability to read and interpret blueprints and AWS welding symbols, is essential. Other related tasks may be assigned as needed. **Responsibilities** + Perform advanced welding techniques including SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, and BRAZE. + Determine proper weld joint design independently. + Conduct Non-Destructive Testing and general welding tasks. + Complete brazer and procedure qualifications. + Read and interpret blueprints and AWS welding symbols. + Familiarize and comply with 009-23 interference and NAVSEA Standard item 009-12 table I and II. + Perform other related tasks as assigned. **Essential Skills** + Advanced knowledge of SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, and BRAZE. + Familiarity with 009-23 interference and NAVSEA Standard item 009-12 table I and II. + Ability to read and interpret blueprints and AWS welding symbols. + Over 5 years of experience as a Journeyman Welder, although 3+ years will be considered. + DBIDS certification is required. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Previous shipyard or Navy experience as a Journeyman Welder is ideal. + Knowledge of MIG welding, TIG welding, flux core welding, and brazing techniques. + Experience in fabrication and structure welding. **Why Work Here?** Enjoy long-term stability and consistent work with a contract-to-hire opportunity. The standard shift is 1st shift, from 6 am to 2:30 pm. Flexibility is required to work Monday through Sunday if needed, and willingness to work up to 10-hour shifts is essential. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, CA. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $29.03 - $47.50/hr.
