Journeyman Security Controls Engineer
**MANTECH** seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented **Journeyman** **Security Controls Engineer** to join our team in **Doral, FL** . **Responsibilities include but are not limited to:** + Assesses management, operational, and technical security controls within information systems, and engineers their selection and implementation to meet system security requirements. + Collaborates with the Security Controls Assessor to rate the severity of weaknesses and engineer corrective actions to address identified vulnerabilities. + Engineers advanced enterprise-scale security control solutions to counter multi-cloud cybersecurity threats, covering Collateral, SCI, and SAP activities. + Regularly assesses customer environment security needs to identify and implement security controls to harden systems and reduce their attack surface, applying cybersecurity engineering skills to design and build secure systems. + Assists with the development and maintenance of Risk Management Framework (RMF) packages, providing design considerations, trade-offs, and solutions from in-depth system analysis. + Identifies the right mix of tools and techniques to translate customer needs into a Security Controls Plan, supports a critical approach to network design, and focuses on integrating secure practices to meet customer operational security objectives, while receiving guidance from senior staff. **Minimum Qualifications:** + BA/BS in field necessary to assume Journeyman Security Controls Engineer duties or 4 years of additional experience in lieu of a bachelors degree + 4 years of experience with 2+ years of relevant Security Controls Engineer experience. + Experience with RMF development and demonstrated ability to validate the implementation of security controls in accordance with NIST, DoD, and Federal agency publications. + DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level III certification. **Desired Qualifications:** + Master’s degree in Cybersecurity. + Experience with vulnerability scans, SCAP scans, and STIG checklists. + Experience with military/diplomatic operations working within a J-6/G-6/S-6 Directorate or with Special Operations Forces (SOF) or the Department of State (DoS) leading and performing cybersecurity risk assessments for and across multiple commands, agencies, and regionally distributed locations in a Security Operations Center (SOC). + Experience at a DoD Combatant Command (e.g., SOUTHCOM, NORTHCOM, CENTCOM, CYBERCOM, INDOPACOM, EUCOM, AFRICOM, STRATCOM, TRANSCOM, SOCOM, SPACECOM) or a component is desired. **Clearance Requirements:** + Must have a current/active Secret clearance. **P** **hysical Requirements:** + Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%. + Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer. + The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.
