We are hiring a field-based Commercial Journeyman Plumber to service multiple commercial and industrial facilities throughout the Kalamazoo, MI area. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity with a company vehicle and gas card provided — ideal for an independent, licensed plumber who enjoys troubleshooting and traveling between sites.
Responsibilities:
Perform installation, service, repair, and preventive maintenance on commercial hot/chilled water, natural gas, sewer, and process piping systems.
Work with copper, galvanized steel, cast iron, PVC, and PEX piping, as well as commercial fixtures (safety showers, eye wash stations, water softeners, etc.).
Interpret blueprints and work orders to lay out, cut, thread, assemble, and install piping.
Troubleshoot and clear drains, repair leaks, replace valves, and perform emergency commercial plumbing service.
Document work performed, maintain inventory, and update site drawings.
Operate a company-provided vehicle to respond to service calls across multiple customer locations.
Ensure safe, neat, and compliant work practices on all job sites.
Minimum Requirements:
Active State of Michigan Journeyman Plumbing License
High school diploma or equivalent
Completion of a registered plumbing apprenticeship program
Valid Michigan driver’s license and clean driving record
Comfortable using electronic work order systems and reading blueprints
Ability to work independently in varying environments and perform physical labor (lift up to 100 lbs)
Preferred:
Michigan Master Plumber License
ASSE 5110 Backflow Prevention Certification
Job Details:
Pay Rate: $38/hr
Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday, field work
