Journeyman Electrician 2nd Shift
**Job Title: Journeyman Electrician (2nd Shift)** **Job Description** This position entails repairing and maintaining electrical systems within industrial establishments. The role involves using both hand tools and power tools to assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures. **Responsibilities** + Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures using hand tools and power tools. + Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem. + Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, ensuring compliance with codes. + Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment is safe. + Connect wires to motors, fixtures, and other electrical equipment, replace switches and fuses, splice wires, and insulate wires with friction tape. + Read and understand blueprints and 1-line drawings. + Clean work area, tools, and equipment. **Essential Skills** + Journeyman's Electrician License (State of Michigan) + 4+ years of experience working in a manufacturing setting + 4+ years of experience working on facilities (lighting, connection points in building, 480 volt) **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience editing and troubleshooting PLCs + Proficiency in installations, troubleshooting, electrical testing, and wiring + Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics **Why Work Here?** After 90 days, employees receive a comprehensive Union 324 benefits package including medical, dental, life insurance, and vision. They will work closely with GM employees in a team setting, matching the fast-paced production environment. A strong work ethic is essential to align with the existing team. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lansing, Michigan. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $39.62 - $39.62/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
