This position may also travel to Lander, Rock Springs, Evanston, Afton, Worland, and Lovell on occasion. Human Resource Contact: Molly Skala /molly.skala@wyo.gov ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function that may be performed in the job level. + Perform electrical inspection, troubleshooting, design, installation, alteration, and repair of main and branch circuits of interior and exterior electrical systems. + Perform work on all phases of electrical distribution systems, repairs and replacement of components on a large number of complex electronically and digitally controlled systems, both interior and exterior. Contacts outside vendors for parts, technical assistance, repairs and installations. + Schedules tests; makes repairs, and files reports to meet national fire alarm code standards and other Wyoming State authorities. + Repair and replace power distribution panels, light fixtures, switches, receptacles, heating, and cooling motors, compressors, emergency generators, and electrical parts for HVAC systems, fire suppression systems, and electronic/digital controls. + Calculates loads for electrical equipment and designs the installation to meet or exceed the National Electric Code and any requirements by the state of Wyoming. + Develop preventive and predictive maintenance programs; assess conditions of system components to determine estimated useful life, suitability, efficiency, and repairs needed to meet industry norms. + Assist with general construction activities, including work on HVAC, carpentry, plumbing, and other skilled trades operations as directed. + Maintain generators, transfer switches, and components of emergency systems. Qualifications PREFERENCES: Preference may be given to applicants with a Journeyman Electrician License and three (3) or more years of electrical experience. ** Required to obtain/maintain a Driver's License ** Required to obtain/maintain Federal Security Clearance KNOWLEDGE: + Knowledge of basic electrical, refrigeration, heating, air conditioning, and welding theory. + Knowledge of the application of electrical and other test equipment.
