About this opportunity:

Reporting to the Team Lead, Joint Venture, the successful candidate for this position will provide contract analyst and data administration support to Cenovus’s portfolio of assets within the conventional upstream business unit. This position will require the ability to draft, analyze, interpret, implement, and administer all types of Joint Venture agreements, in addition to providing analytical and project support functions to the larger Business Development & JV Services group.

What you’ll do:

Responsible for drafting JV agreements to document and execute on commercial and business development opportunities with varying degrees of complexity

Review and administer agreement amendments, revisions, ownership changes, fee changes, obligations, and other contractual updates, as required

Request and maintain cost centers to manage revenue, ownership, throughput, contract operating or other unique business requirements

Engage, support and collaborate with other stakeholder groups including operations, engineering, production & joint venture accounting, land, legal, audit, A&D, EQ, etc. 

Effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve queries, questions and disputes in a timely fashion

Proactively manage third party tie-in activities and support operations on new business opportunities from initiation to execution

Review and analyze reports to identify and address data discrepancies within contractual systems, trackers and other databases

Who you are:

Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:

Legally authorized to work in Canada

Completion of the PJVA Joint Venture Analyst & PJVA Joint Venture Administrator Certificate’s is preferred

Undergraduate degree in business, commerce, or related disciplines is considered an asset

Minimum of 5 years of experience in a relevant joint venture role

A keen attention to detail with strong analytical skills to identify variances, gaps, trends, patterns or efficiencies in both data and processes

Extensive experience with Microsoft Office, SAP, CS Land, StackDX, Accumap and Energylink would be preferred
