Joint Operations Lead

This role will have ownership of Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery, and Joint Operations across an AWS region. This will involve working with a wide range of stakeholders, including customers and engineering teams to ensure that operational processes and procedures are created, defined and applied.
Key job responsibilities
- Day to day ownership of BCDR and the operational posture within an AWS region
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to help define and document operational processes. Attend operational meetings as required to enable the coordination and visibility of high impact work.
- Ensure all required tooling, runbooks, wikis and operational documentation are up to date and maintained to a high standard
- Ownership of BCDR contractual requirements
- Work with peer regions to ensure global alignment on best practices and develop efficiencies through economies of scale where appropriate
- Be an operational excellence advocate across teams, driving a high bar across change control and leading the continuous improvement of BCDR and operational effectiveness
- Act as the owner for the overall operational posture of the region, defining KPIs and reporting region health to senior leaders
