Behavior Technician / Classroom Aide Hawthorne School District – Hawthorne, CA Amergis Healthcare Staffing Amergis Healthcare Staffing is actively hiring Behavior Technicians and Classroom Aides to support students within the Hawthorne School District . If you’re passionate about working in education and want to make a measurable impact in a student’s academic and behavioral growth, this is an excellent opportunity. In this role, you will provide 1:1 or small group classroom support , partnering closely with teachers, BCBAs, and related service providers to help students reach their individualized goals. While Hawthorne School District is our priority location, Amergis partners with multiple districts in the surrounding South Bay area. Compensation & Benefits • $20–$28 per hour (based on experience) • Weekly pay – consistent, reliable direct deposit every Friday! • Full benefits package + Medical, Dental, Vision, Life insurance • 401(k) retirement savings plan • Dedicated recruiter support and career guidance Benefit eligibility dependent upon employment status Key Responsibilities • Follow direction from BCBA, teachers, and program supervisors • Implement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) • Utilize behavior management strategies and crisis prevention techniques • Support academic instruction and IEP-driven goals • Assist related services (SLP, OT, PT) as needed • Collect and document behavioral and academic data • Promote independence in daily living and social skills • Support students across environments (classroom, playground, cafeteria, transitions) • Maintain professional communication with school staff Qualifications • High School Diploma or equivalent required • Minimum 18 years of age • Two (2) years pediatric or school-based experience preferred • CPR certification (if applicable) • TB clearance (PPD, chest x-ray, or questionnaire per district requirement) • Health screening documentation per contract • Completion of Amergis competency program • Strong communication skills and professional demeanor • Basic computer proficiency • Understanding of confidentiality and HIPAA standards About Amergis Healthcare Staffing For over 30 years, Amergis has partnered with schools nationwide to provide qualified professionals who support students’ academic and behavioral success.
