The Test and Evaluation Engineer is responsible for planning, conducting, and analyzing tests to ensure the performance, reliability, and safety of the Javelin missile system. This role involves evaluating the missile's capabilities under various conditions, identifying potential issues, and providing technical recommendations to improve system effectiveness. The engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams, including program managers, design engineers, and military personnel, to support the Department of Defense's mission. Roles and Responsibilities
Test Planning and Execution: Develop detailed test plans and procedures for evaluating the Javelin missile system's performance, accuracy, and reliability. Conduct live-fire tests, environmental tests, and system-level evaluations in controlled and field conditions.Data Collection and Analysis: Collect and analyze test data to assess system performance against specifications and requirements. Identify anomalies, troubleshoot issues, and recommend corrective actions.System Validation: Verify that the Javelin missile meets operational requirements and complies with DoD standards, such as MIL-STD-810 (environmental testing) and MIL-STD-882 (system safety).Documentation and Reporting: Prepare detailed test reports, including findings, conclusions, and recommendations. Maintain accurate records of test results and ensure compliance with DoD documentation standards.Collaboration: Work closely with design engineers, contractors, and military personnel to ensure test objectives align with program goals. Provide technical expertise during program reviews and briefings.Safety and Compliance: Ensure all testing activities comply with safety protocols and DoD regulations. Implement risk mitigation strategies during testing.Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, systems engineering, or a related field.Experience in test and evaluation, systems engineering, or missile systems development, preferably within the defense industry.Ability to obtain and/or maintain a DoD secret clearanceProficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., MATLAB, Python).Knowledge of DoD testing standards and protocols.Preferred Qualifications
