Kforce has a client that is seeking a Java Server Developer in Austin, TX. Summary: Our client is looking for a motivated Java Developer to join our server-side development team. This role is ideal for someone early in their career (2-3 years of experience or strong internships) who wants to focus on building and maintaining real-world applications. You'll work on the core server platform that powers our global financial planning software. Application Development: * Design, enhance, and maintain backend services and APIs that power our core applications, including data integrations and reporting features * Build robust, user-focused application logic and business rules that support real-world client needs * Write clean, modular, and efficient Java code aligned with best practices, contributing to high-impact, client-facing features like our reporting suite Team Collaboration: * Partner closely with analysts and application owners, as well as UI engineers, to deliver thoughtful, end-to-end solutions * Actively contribute to design discussions, code reviews, and agile ceremonies to drive team alignment and technical quality * Stay engaged by asking questions, contributing ideas, and using feedback as a tool for continuous growth Problem Solving & Maintenance: * Maintain and support our existing offerings with a focus on the full user experience, including the administration console and reporting platform; This includes addressing bugs, improving stability, and ensuring long-term maintainability across the platform * Debug and troubleshoot issues across both development and production environments * Improve the stability, performance, and security of our Java-based platform, including RESTful services, reporting infrastructure, and backend data integrations * Identify and resolve security vulnerabilities while keeping systems aligned with modern best practices * Write clear documentation and contribute to internal tools and shared team knowledge
