As a Senior Manager of Software Engineering at JPMorganChase within the Commercial & Investment Bank, you serve in a leadership role by providing technical coaching and advisory for multiple technical teams, as well as anticipate the needs and potential dependencies of other functions within the firm. Job responsibilities
Provide overall direction, oversight, and coaching for a team of entry-level to mid-level software engineers that work on basic to moderately complex tasksBe accountable for decisions that influence teams’ resources, budget, tactical operations, and the execution and implementation of processes and proceduresEnsures successful collaboration across teams and stakeholdersLeads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologiesExecutes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problemsDevelops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by othersIdentifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systemsInterpret technical and business objectives, identifying challenges and providing innovative solutions to address themIdentifies and mitigates issues to execute a book of work while escalating issues as necessaryProvides input to leadership regarding budget, approach, and technical considerations to improve operational efficiencies and functionality for the teamCreates a culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect for team members and prioritizes diverse representation
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Formal training or certification on Software Engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experienceExperience leading teams of technologists to manage and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertiseDeep expertise in core Java, Spring Boot, J2EE, Messaging Systems (MQ), Oracle, Postgres, Dapr, Flink, Kafka and Apache IcebergExperience in writing and maintaining REST / SOAP Based APIsStrong background in Database Management, Web Services, Databricks and Oracle SQLUnderstanding of observability tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, or GrafanaDemonstrated ability to debug complex systems and drive technical discussions independentlyProficiency in automation and continuous delivery methodsAbility to guide and coach teams on approach to achieve goals aligned against a set of strategic initiativesExperience with hiring, developing, and recognizing talent
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Strong experience with cloud-native microservices architectureExposure to full software development lifecycle in large-scale systems, preferably within the financial industryExperience with Sanctions Domain and/or familiarity with Sanctions Screening solutions, Pega PRPC workflows Understanding of Data platforms such as Databricks or Snowflake
