Join the RBC foreign exchange (FX) electronic trading IT team during an exciting time of growth as we evolve our in-house software to enhance our trading capability. We are building robust new products that will allow our customers more frictionless access to this market.We are looking for an individual with strong Java server-side experience, building and maintaining scalable low latency software in a micro service architecture. Job Description
Be part of an agile team that delivers in-house electronic trading capabilities that facilitates internal and external clients to trade currencies.Work within a product team to implement changes quickly and help deliver services for price distribution and trading in a 24/5 businessTake ownership of deliver of software components to meet the team's sprint goals; be able to swarm on stories so that work-in-progress is kept to a minimumWork closely with an end-to-end product team to meet user story acceptance criteriaWork within a team culture that is driven by quality (user reviews with sales and traders and ability to take feedback into improvements for upcoming sprints)Assist the team in meeting their requirements to deliver working software at the end of every 2-week sprintStrong communication skills, experience working in agile teams.WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?
Must have:
Strong technical developer year's hands on experience in Java using Java 11-17, Spring, distributed databases, Caching, Web Services, and database technologies.Experience working with Middleware technologies like Solace / Kafka or equivalent queuing tech.Experience working within professional software engineering practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source code management, build processes and testing.Self-motivated – driven to get results, takes initiative and needs minimum oversight.Nice-to-have:
Working knowledge of design patterns, data structures, algorithms, and OO concepts.Experience building a real-time trading with asynchronous communication and Garbage collection optimization for fine tuning performance and application throughput would be a plusLinux & bash scriptingExperience containerizing and deploying applications with Docker/KubernetesExperience building DevOps pipelines (GitHub, Jenkins, Nexus, etc)TTD experienceCapital Markets experience is a strong plusJob Skills
