Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Product Engineer to join our dynamic team. The Product Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, and enhancement of our products. The role is pivotal in ensuring product agility, quality, and user satisfaction. In this Agile environment, you'll own the end-to-end development of backend services, following test driven development and XP practices.

Key Responsibilities:

Participates in iteration planning meetings ensuring that the team has a common understanding of each story and chores in a team backlogParticipates in daily site, cross-site, and product team standupsParticipates in retrospectives to gather feedback and derive actionable items to improve the team and the productCollaborates within the team in designing systems and appsPractices daily paired programming and test-driven development in writing software and building productsEstablishes continuous integration, continuous delivery, and continuous deployment pipelines and practicesProvides support for software products in user environmentsServes as an expert on a specific business domain and demonstrates leadership and accountability in all forums including ECC and SWAT callsProvides input into the design of the product, collaborating with the team in solving problems the right wayParticipates in knowledge sharing, and contributes to the overall growth of the collective knowledge of the teamCoaches more junior team members around different technologies and XP practices

Functional Skills:

Strong understanding of computer science concepts, object-oriented design principlesHands-on experience with developing software in Java and J2EE technologies such as Spring BootExperience and knowledge in developing REST APIs, database (relational, NoSQL, caching), building complex queries, implementation and optimizationKnowledge and experience utilizing continuous integration and DevOps methodologies, preferred tools such as IntelliJ IDEA, GitHub, Jenkins, SonarQube, Gradle, Maven, etc.Experience working in an Extreme Programming (XP); experienced working in a paired programming/engineering modelExperience in Test Driven Development; including knowledge and experience in testing frameworks like JUnit, mockito and other like technologiesExperience on API Testing via Postman,Bruno and SoapUIUtilize quality and security scan tools such as Sonar, Fortify and Contrast, or similarEnsure code and processes adhere to clean code practices and industry/application best practicesExperience with messaging systems such as Kafka or similar toolsCloud knowledge with technologies such as AWS, Azure or other cloud technologies

Education and Experience:

4 years bachelor’s degree (Preferred)6 or more years of experience (Preferred)
