Eastern Michigan University partners with Gilbane Development Company to take care of their janitorial/housekeeping division. They are looking to bring on 12 janitors onto their team. \n\nThey're 13 buildings to service: unique dorms, apartments, common spaces, large lounges, kitchens, main lobbys, and office spaces. They will make sure to empty all the trash cans and bins on each floor and seperate between recycling and garbage. Sanitizing normal touch points: handrails, push plates, lights, knobs, etc. Responsibilities also include mopping, buffing, shampooing carpets, etc.\n\nCandidates will also be cleaning units once they turnover to get them prepped for the next student. \n\nEquipment will be kept on-site in the janitorial closet on each floor. Depending on the building 1 -2 janitors will be assigned so they must be comfortable being independent. They're elevators but they must be comfortable taking stairs just incase their is a power outage, etc. \n\nSHIFT: \n7-7:30/8:30am-3:30pm\n7:30am-4pm\n8:30-5pm\nLunch and 2 15 minute breaks\nThey are a 7 day operation and will set their schedules during their first week working. Their core Housekeeping team has seniority to the \"wanted\" schedules (Monday-Friday or Sunday -Thursday) with that being said, our Housekeepers will have week days off for example: Monday/Tuesday off Wed.-Sun. or Tuesday/Wednesday off work Thursday-Monday, and so on. \n\nPaid parking on campus Aerotek and Gilbane splits this cost and it will register through their license plate and park in facility/staff specific parking lots. They may still get citations because EMU's parking security is constantly patrolling but they just need to appeal their tickets -- I can help with this. \n\nUniform: Black work pants and presentable top

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.35 - $16.35/hr.
