MISSION

Thales Begium (Herstal site) is a world leader in precision guided rocket system for helicopters and jet aircraft. In order to meet its ambitious production and product development roadmap, Thales wants to reinforce its technical team and is looking for an engineer who wants to develop himself as an IVVQ engineer (Integration, Verification, Validation, Qualification).

As an IVVQ Engineer, you will integrate a multidisciplinary team within the Engineering department. You will contribute to the design, development and qualification activities of new products or concepts. You will be responsible for the integration, verification, validation and qualification of solutions (hardware, software and systems) in the laboratory and during test campaigns with different platforms (helicopter, vehicles, unmanned ground or aerial systems).

RESPONSIBILITY

Define the integration scheme for the solution/product elements in a logical and controlled manner to evaluate the design, behavior, interactions and performanceVerify that all requirements against which the solution/product has been designed are fulfilled in accordance with the test strategy, defined in the IVVQ PlanCreate tests sequences, propose test equipment & SW tools to reach good completion of tests sequencesRun test sequences based on debugged test scripts & write final reportAnalyze and interpret test results and provide inputs to the subcontractors and development teams for solving issuesPrepare and configure equipment for Proof Of Concept (PoC) of solutionDocument the test procedures and test reports in the IVVQ tools & generate formal documentationWhere possible, automate the test procedure to optimize the verification & validation campaigns

PROFILE

Engineering degree in mechanical, electronical or equivalent experienceMin 3 years of experience in engineering or R&D teamPassionate and curious for technologiesKnowledge / understanding of system development lifecycle (V-model) and IVVQ processAbility to define test plan of prototypes according to delivery planning and risk evaluationRigorous and thorough while able to make 80/20 compromise based on risk and value creation assessmentAutonomous, self-drive, able to take and meet commitmentsGood understanding of testing methods (vibrations, EMI/EMC, climatic environments…) and simulation methods (FEA, CFD…)Proven ability in the generation of test documentation (test procedures and test reports)Good communicator, can show pedagogy to explain complex problems with simple words.Able to work with Agile cultureExperience relevant in embedded systems (electronic and software) in aeronautical, spatial, defense or automotive industry, as well as a knowledge of the standards DO-178, ARP4754 or ISO26262, is a plusFluent in English and in French
