Green Tree Pharmacy is a long-term care pharmacy located in Minonk, IL, which currently serves almost 100 long-term care facilities. Since 1960, we have been meeting and exceeding the demands of the senior community across the state of Illinois. As we continue to expand our services, we are in need of a Pharmacy IV Technician. 

This position is responsible for:

Filling requested prescriptions orders from the nursing facilities under the supervision of staff pharmacist.Compounding non-sterile, sterile, and hazardous medications per USP <795>, USP <797>, and USP <800> guidelines and regulations. These compounds may include emulsions, liquids, ointments, powders, and intravenous solutions.Checking for drug interactions, allergies, proper dosing, and use of medications prescribed.Sorting and packing of medications for delivery to nursing facilities.
Stocking and reordering of inventory of medications.
Responsible for programming and maintenance on infusion pumps.
Checking in returned medications from nursing facilities and issue credit as needed.
Cleaning and sanitizing the IV rooms, equipment, and hood, per policy and procedures.
Maintaining compound records and recipes. Qualifications: Pharmacy background is preferred, but will train for the right candidate.Knowledge of medications uses, generic brands of drugs, prescription language, and medical terminology.Ability to use a computer, fax machine, copy machine, telephone, and calculator.Computer literacy is a must. Excellent communication and organizational skills.Able to work in a quick and timely manner with great assurance of accuracy.Will be required to become a certified pharmacy technician within 2 years of original licensure.
