HMP Forest Bank have an exciting opportunity for a IT Technician to join the team!
In this role, you will act as the first point of contact for incidents assigned to the prison’s IT department, prioritising and managing cases to a successful conclusion. You will assist Sodexo employees in using various networks, CCTV, Alarm, Radios, and cell call systems, enabling them to use the equipment effectively. You will resolve IT issues independently where possible, and work with the Technical Operations Manager and Technical Operations Engineer (where necessary) to identify problems, find workarounds and more permanent resolutions.

Main Responsibilities
Completion of daily checks.Competition of daily tool checks and supporting documentationLogging of all calls.Processing of basic change requests e.g. new user setup, file/folder access, leaver formsEscorting of 3rd party contractorsProduction of FAQ guides for all supported systemsTake ownership of the ordering process for the site. Raising and tracking POs, placing orders, taking delivery of orders, completion of GRN forms and resolution of any issues with ordersInstallation of new equipment: PCs, phones, scanners, printers.General housekeeping e.g. Stock taking and control, ensuring the IT office is maintained to an acceptable standard reducing negating any health and safety risks.Completion of the Quarterly security group auditPlease see attached job description for further information regarding the role requirements
The Ideal Candidate
First-rate knowledge/familiarity with MS Office/Office 365 suiteExcellent knowledge of Windows 10 & 11Previous experience in a First Line Systems support or similar IT role would be advantageousAbility to work individually or as part of a pro-active team.Attention to detailAbility to prioritise workloadAble to obtain SC clearance & Disclosure ScotlandDriving licence would be advantageousAbility to work outside normal office hours as dictated by projects/incidentsThis position does involve some prisoner interactionIt also involves occasional travel and out of hours workingPackage Description
Up to £28,500 depending on experience
