IT Team Lead - DevSecOps (PAQT)
Job Description

The purpose of the role is as follows:

The primary objective of the PaQT DevSecOps Lead is to effectively lead and coach a team of DevSecOps engineers.

This role involves fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation, providing technical guidance, and ensuring the team is equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge. The hands-on team lead collaborates with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and implement best practices and is accountable for optimising DevSecOps pipelines for continuous integration and deployment.

The role demands close collaboration with developers, business analysts, and infrastructure teams to maintain platform reliability and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Are you someone who can do the following:​

Build and manage an effective, skilled team with appropriate succession planning, providing technical leadershipManage performance of employees by clearly defining goals and objectives and providing direction, coaching and regular feedbackActively participate in and contribute to agile practices and ceremonies including the Quarterly Business ReviewEnsure scalable, secure and stable environments for the platformLiaise with external contracted suppliers (e.g., CompatibL) to implement new solutions required by business and technology users according to an agreed roadmap.Ensure ongoing application and infrastructure maintenance, upgrades and renewals are up to date to ensure platform availability and reliability (on prem and cloud)Drive and maintain a favourable security posture for the platform, continuously addressing vulnerabilitiesEmbed principles of quality assurance and define DevSecOps quality frameworks and standardsEnsure adequate disaster recovery and high availability for the platform that meets business needs, as well as ensuring successful failover and failback during annual disaster recovery tests (on premises and cloud infrastructure)Ensure optimal usage of cloud infrastructure and drive ongoing cost efficienciesPerform script maintenance and updates due to changes in requirements or implementationsSet up and maintain the test environments for both manual and automated testingParticipate in sizing, setting up, monitoring and maintaining the infrastructure (hardware and software on for the platformDevelop and optimise CI/CD pipelines to support seamless software delivery and deploymentEnsure compliance with relevant statutory, legislative, policy and governance requirements in area of accountability.Build effective relationships that allow for the managing of expectations, the sharing of knowledge and diverse insights, the creation of buy-in and aligned delivery focus.Initiate stakeholder engagements to track progress, manage expectations and ensure stakeholders' requirements are delivered.Research, enable and consult on improvements and opportunities to harness technology and platform enablement.

Experience and Skills

7 to 10 years’ experience in a similar environment, of which 1 to 2 years ideally at junior (entry level) management levelProven experience in leading, implementing and supporting Financial Markets systemsStrong knowledge of DevSecOps tools and methodologiesWorking knowledge of IT security principlesMinimum 5 years of experience with Microsoft AzureAZ-104 certification, AZ-305 would be advantageousExperience with version control tools like Git, BitBucket.Experience with provisioning and operating CI/CD tools, either from Azure or using Jenkins/TeamCityOperating systems: Windows Server, RHELPlatforms: AKS, OpenShift would be advantageousExperience with Tomcat, WildflyPostgreSQL, DB/2, MS-SQL Server, MongoDB, and working SQL knowledgeWorking knowledge and experience with Docker
