About this Role

NorthStar Energy Services is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented IT Support Technician to join our team. In this entry-level role, you will serve as the first point of contact for employees experiencing technical issues, providing timely Tier 1 support and ensuring minimal disruption to day-to-day operations. This position is ideal for candidates who are eager to grow their IT career in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

What You'll Do Respond to help desk tickets, phone calls, and walk-up requests in a professional and timely mannerDiagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues for end users (Tier 1 support)Set up, configure, and deploy desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devicesInstall, update, and maintain operating systems and software applicationsCreate, manage, and disable user accounts in Active Directory and Microsoft 365Document issues and resolutions accuratelyEscalate complex issues to Tier 2/3 support teams when necessaryMaintain inventory of IT assets, equipment, and suppliesAssist with onboarding of new employees (hardware setup, account provisioning)Travel 40% of the timeRespond to onsite troubleshooting remote offices What You'll Bring High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field preferred0–2 years of IT support or help desk experience (internships and academic projects count)Basic understanding of Windows operating systems (Windows 11)Familiarity with Microsoft 365 applications (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel)Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and customer service skillsAbility to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a ticket-based environmentWillingness to learn and adapt in a constantly evolving technology environmentCompTIA A+ certification (or actively pursuing) preferred Experience with Active Directory and user account management preferredFamiliarity with ITSM/ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira Service Management, Zendesk) preferredBasic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN) preferredExperience with remote desktop tools (e.g., TeamViewer, AnyDesk, Remote Desktop Protocol) preferred What You'll Get
