IT Specialist - AI Technical Project Lead

We are seeking highly skilled and technically proficient AI professional to join our team in Shanghai, China. This role is centered on the end-to-end technical development and deployment of AI solutions, with a focus on building scalable, secure, and high-performance AI applications tailored to Eaton China’s business needs. This role will be responsible for leading the design and development of both front-end and back-end components for AI-powered platforms. The role requires deep technical expertise in AI frameworks, data engineering, model integration, and system architecture.

**What you’ll do:**
**Drive AI Adoption in China:**
• Maintain the Eaton China Microsoft Azure AI Services environment to support China AI capabilities
• Building front-end and back-end components for AI applications, building/consuming APIs, building customer-centric user interfaces and designing integrations with other systems using .Net, JavaScript, Angular or React, SQL
• Collaborate with IT Business Relationship Managers and business stakeholders to identify high-impact AI use cases and document clear, actionable AI requirements.
• Deploy Eaton’s standard AI solutions to address business needs, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and operational goals.
• Provide technical support to application owners in developing the AI solution
• Lead the deployment and integration of AI applications and platforms within Eaton China, ensuring compliance with local regulatory requirements and data privacy standards.
**Project Management:**
• Manage multiple AI projects simultaneously, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams, including IT, engineering, operations, and supply Chain etc, to ensure successful project execution.
• Identify and mitigate risks associated with AI projects and implement corrective actions as needed.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
• Stay abreast of the latest AI trends, technologies, and best practices to drive innovation within the organization.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging experimentation, learning, and adaptation.
• Collaborate with global AI teams to share the best practices, leverage existing solutions, and drive continuous improvement
**Qualifications:**
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field. A master’s degree in AI, Machine Learning, or Data Science is preferred.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in information technology, including at least 5 years specializing in artificial intelligence, machine learning, or data science.
**Skills:**
• Proven track record in identifying AI use case and build front-end and back-end components for AI applications
• Proven track record of successfully leading AI projects in a global organization.
• Experience with AI applications and platforms used, such as Microsoft Azure AI Services, Palantir and other AI solutions like local AI service (DeepSeek, Qwen for example).
• Deep understanding of AI technologies, including machine learning, natural language processing, computer vision, data analytics and retrieval-augmented generation.
• Experience with cloud and hybrid infrastructures.
• Proficiency in front-end technologies (React or Angular) and back-end technologies (e.g., Node.js, Python, .NET).
• Strong understanding of AI and machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Proficiency in scripting and automation tools (e.g., Python, SQL, JavaScript, PowerShell, Azure CLI)
• Expertise in cloud native development specialized in Microsoft Azure tech stack and Ali Cloud tech stack.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and make data-driven decisions.
• Experience with AI platforms like Palantir and Snowflake is advantageous
• Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Experience working in a multinational organization with a diverse and distributed team.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements and data privacy standards in China.
• Proficiency in Mandarin and English.
