About your role:
 

As a System Engineer – Professional I, you will be part of a dynamic team responsible for designing, engineering, monitoring, and supporting infrastructure and application platforms that enable secure and reliable financial transactions in a highly regulated environment. You will contribute to the sustainment and evolution of production environments, drive automation, and ensure compliance with industry standards and internal policies.

 

What you’ll do:

Develop and execute technology plans focused on project delivery, production environment sustainment, and team developmentLead engineering initiatives to improve system availability and manage hardware/software lifecycle activitiesBuild and maintain direct relationships with infrastructure and business leaders across the enterprise to align on shared goalsParticipate in the selection and implementation of next-generation technologies and strategiesArchitect and support complex infrastructure designs across large-scale data centers handling mission-critical, high-volume transactionsConduct research and development throughout the project lifecycle, including technical analysis, design, and operational supportLead infrastructure and application engineering teams in planning, designing, implementing, and supporting systems including servers, software, load balancers, and HSM appliancesWork in a rotational on-call support environment

Experience you’ll need to have:

4+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering or system administration3+ years of experience supporting enterprise applications, including incident response, middleware upgrades, certificate management, documentation, and metrics reportingStrong background in UNIX, Sun Solaris, Linux, and Shell scriptingProven experience in hardware and operating system troubleshootingWillingness to work in a rotational on-call support environmentBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
 

Experience that would be great to have:

3+ years of experience designing and maintaining server build configurations for WebLogic servers3+ years of experience performing system patching, hardening, and managing automated deployments3+ years of experience analyzing and resolving incidents and problems in hosted infrastructure and applications3+ years of experience with daily operations of hosted infrastructure and applications, ensuring uptime and service quality3+ years of experience researching and implementing innovative, automated approaches to system administration tasks

How you’ll work:

Fiserv emphasizes in-person collaboration to help you grow your career while shaping the future of fintech; this role is on-site Monday through Friday.This role requires being on-call during non-standard and/or overnight hours on a rotational basis
