IT Project Manager (Retail - Store Systems)
Job Description The IT Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing both Tool Rental and HR applications, which include our internally developed solutions as well as shared applications between our US and Canadian teams. The ideal candidate will manage purchased applications, conduct vendor assessment reviews, lead security reviews, and facilitate statement of work processes. The position will also include working on technology modernization and exploring user journeys with our legacy systems. The intention for this role is to convert to an FTE position after 3-6 months, moving into a IT Application Manager role. Key Responsibilities:         Strategy & Planning: • Contributes to and makes recommendations for strategic plans in support of key objectives in a timely and fiscally responsible manner • Supports and nurtures strategic vendor relationships; recommends ways to influence vendors that align to domain, portfolio, and enterprise strategic objectives • Thought Leadership- Evaluates new technologies for adoption across the enterprise  • Helps to identify and demonstrate emerging technologies for adoption by product teams Delivery & Execution: • Owns and manages key functional areas and tracks the progress of multiple projects on the Home Depot’s Tool Rental and HR systems portfolio. • Collaborates and partners with other teams to create secure,robust, reliable, scalable software solutions  • Partner with Business and technology teams to build Functional and Technology roadmap projects using agile scrum methodology • Documents, reviews and ensures that all quality and change control standards are met Support & Enablement: • Responds to questions/inquiries from Business stakeholders, Technology team members, product teams, or support teams, ensuring clear communication and alignment across all groups.     • Monitors tools and participates in conversations to encourage collaboration across product teams • Learns through reading, tutorials, videos, and other mediums on new technologies and best practices being used within other technology organizations • Provides application support for software running in production. Skills and Requirements • 6-8 Years of Project Management experience, including experience managing cross functional software development initiatives  • Experience working in retail space • Fundamental (not technical) knowlesdge of SQL, SAP, Cloud technologies, Microservices, CI/CD, web technologies (e.g., Java, spring, spring boot, angular, Ruby, React etc) & SOA/distributed applications architectures. • Highly preferred technology experience of applications in any big box retail organization. • Software development/business analysis background is preferred.
