Job Description
An employer in the insurance industry is looking for an IT Project Manager who will play a critical role in managing vendor-driven initiatives and supporting some product ownership responsibilities. The role involves overseeing vendor activities, managing dependencies, and maintaining governance compliance while driving progress and preventing blockers.
The IT Project Manager will work closely with Enterprise Architects, Product Owners, and development teams to gather requirements, feed workstreams, and ensure deliverables align with organizational goals. Responsibilities include backlog grooming for application teams, onboarding vendors into company processes, and providing oversight on platform services projects—primarily application development, but also expanding into data and AI initiatives. This position requires strong technical understanding to engage effectively with development teams and vendors on topics such as source control, pipelines, security scanning, and observability tools. The role may also involve evaluating cloud spend, operational costs, and supporting merger and acquisition activities. Ultimately, this individual will serve as a conduit for communication, ensuring clarity, accountability, and timely execution across all vendor engagements.
