Job Description
Our client located in Toronto, Ontario is seeking an IT Project Manager.
This will be a day shift position (8 hour per day).
Pay rate will be $55- $58/hr.
Starting ASAP (8 months contract)
Work schedule: Hybrid position (2 days onsite)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Project Planning and Execution: Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk management strategies for office relocation projects. Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including IT, facilities, and business units, to understand requirements and ensure alignment with project goals. Vendor Coordination: Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers to ensure timely delivery of services and adherence to project specifications. Budget Management: Monitor project budgets, track expenses, and ensure projects are completed within financial constraints. Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to address challenges that may arise during the relocation process. Communication: Provide regular updates to senior management and stakeholders on project status, milestones, and any issues that may impact project delivery. Technical Oversight: Ensure the successful migration of IT equipment, IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and meeting room equipment, with minimal downtime and disruption. Meeting Room Equipment: Oversee the relocation and setup of meeting room equipment, including audio-visual systems, conferencing tools, and other related technologies to ensure they are fully operational post-relocation. Post-Relocation Support: Oversee post-relocation activities, including troubleshooting, user support, and ensuring all systems are fully operational. RequirementsBachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT project management, with a focus on office relocation projects. PMP, PRINCE2, or other relevant project management certifications are preferred. Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, networking, meeting room equipment, and applications for meeting rooms and booking systems. Proven experience in planning and executing office relocations, including IT infrastructure and lab environments. Ability to develop detailed project plans, timelines, and resource allocation strategies. Strong risk management and contingency planning. Maintain comprehensive documentation of schedules, equipment lists, and changes. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to provide clear, regular updates to senior management and stakeholders. Skilled in cross-functional collaboration with IT, labs, facilities, logistics, and business units. Experience managing external vendors and service providers to ensure timely and quality delivery. Ability to act as a central point of contact for all stakeholders. Deep understanding of IT infrastructure, AV equipment , inventory management and equipment relocation logistics. Frequent movement between multiple office locations, including old and new sites. Walking, standing, and navigating through office spaces, server rooms, and lab environments. Availability during non-standard hours, especially after 5pm or on weekends, to oversee critical phases of the move.
