IT Project Lead
**Job Description** BAE Systems is seeking afull-time on-site **IT Project Lead** to support our work as a prime contractor on a high-profile U.S. Navy weapon system at Washington Navy Yard. This role requires an experienced IT professional with a strong foundation in diverse technologies, who is able to communicate effectively with stakeholders of all levels. This position willlead a diverse IT Operations technical team to complete projects on unclassified and classified networks. Key responsibilities are to: + Perform hands-on technical work in the execution of projects and the resolution of issues, including system deployments, system configurations, and architecture and design of environments + Design, test, and implement secure operating systems, networks, and database products while conducting risk assessment and providing recommendations for architecture design following IA accreditation process + Lead the planning and delivery of complex IT projects ensuring they are completed within schedule, meet DoD cybersecurity standards, and comply with stakeholders business and technical objectives + Work with cross-functional teams to define project scopes, goals, and deliverable project plans and timelines + As the Design and Project Lead, prepare project milestones briefings for senior government leadership while exercising discretion + Oversee solution implementation, ensuring compliance with Government architecture, security, and organizational goals + Evaluate technical successes/challenges to recommend new technologies, frameworks, and tools for adoption by the Government + Distribute tasks for projects to other IT Operations teams to meet timelines and stay within government requirements. **and the U.S. Navy s Strategic Systems Programs (SSP)** Our organization has supported the U.S. Navy s Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) continually since the program s inception in the 1950s. SSP developed the first sea-based, underwater-launched Strategic Weapon System (SWS), a defense system that is truly critical to our national security. For more than six decades, SSP has maintained and upgraded this weapon system and we have been there every step of the way. The sea-based SWS is the ultimate stealthy weapon system and is the first leg of the U.S. nuclear triad. With over 70% of our nation s nuclear arsenal its importance to maintaining world peace cannot be overstated. The development of Columbia, the most advanced nuclear-powered, nuclear-armed submarine ever designed, as well the next D5LE2 weapon system is under way and will begin to be rolled out over the next decade. The Navy projects this system to be operational through 2084, meaning the program will have a total life span of more than 120 years. We develop, engineer, manufacture, and support products and systems to protect national security and keep people safe. **Required Education, Experience, & Skills** + Bachelor s degree in information systems or related degree and eight years position related experience; OR twelve years position related work experience. + An ACTIVE DoD Top Secret security clearance + An IAT II certification as specified in the DoD 8570 + Or, have a SECNAV 5239 qualifying degree AND meet the requirements for an IAT II as specified in the DoD 8570 within 6 months of start date + Ability to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC), badge access to the customer s facility, and a SSP network account in good standing + Proven experience eliciting, documenting, and validating functional and non-functional requirements from business and technical stakeholders. + Ability to translate high-level mission needs into detailed system specifications and user stories. + Ability to create process flows, requirements traceability matrices, and technical analysis reports + Working knowledge of cross-domain collaboration technologies, secure information sharing solutions, and enterprise collaboration platforms + Understanding of cybersecurity principles, data classification, access control, and secure information exchange across national boundaries + Experience working within structured project frameworks + Ability to maintain requirements baselines, track changes, and ensure proper stakeholder alignment + Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess IT challenges, identify root causes, and propose feasible solutions + Ability to maintain clear and organized documentation + Solid knowledge of networking principals and best practices + Self-starter that takes the initiative to get tasks completed **Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills** + Master s degree in IT related field + Experience working in a DoD Environment **Pay Information** Full-Time Salary Range: $130355 - $221603 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
