Position: IT Product Owner - Intermodal Systems
Job Description:
Forward Air is seeking an IT Product Owner - Intermodal Systems to work in the IT department on an Agile Scrum Team. This position will be responsible for a value stream and its development initiatives by identifying user needs, communicating strategic objectives, managing releases, and overall vision. The IT Product Owner - Intermodal Systems should have strong analytical skills with ability to translate visions into user stories; excellent verbal/written communicate skills covering technical and functional subjects; and strong desire to organize and drive projects across the finish line. Candidates with experience in the transportation industry are preferred.
Core Responsibilities & Duties:
+ Serve as the IT liaison for the Intermodal business unit at Forward Air.
+ Oversee all intermodal systems and databases.
+ Create and manage EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) mappings with Customers (204, 214, 210, 990, 997).
+ Oversee the innovation and end-to-end launch of products.
+ Collaborate with business partners and customers to co-develop roadmaps.
+ Drive products from concept to launch in a fast-paced environment.
+ Work with cross-functional teams to turn data insights into actionable products.
+ Continuously refine business needs, priorities, and opportunities in an Agile setting.
+ Manage product roadmaps and sprint backlogs using Jira and ServiceNow.
+ Document and maintain Agile Board in accordance with good Agile principles
+ Define user experiences and translate features into product requirements.
+ Lead the product design process.
+ Execute go-to-market plans.
+ Track product performance post-launch.
+ Utilize ServiceNow for IT service management and process automation.
+ Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
+ A bachelor’s degree in business, technology, engineering or equivalent experience
+ Prefer professional certificate in Agile development (Scrum, Kanban, LEAN)
+ Prefer 2 years of experience leading project teams using Agile methodology
+ 4-5 years of experience in business analysis, solutions development, creating business requirements and delivering business capabilities

+ Must be a self-starter that does not require constant direction
+ Strong team player that thrives in a fast-paced environment
+ Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with ability to communicate effectively across all levels of operations/users
+ Ability to drive/display ownership/proactive behavior
+ Efficiently handle multiple IT projects simultaneously
+ Strong computer skills with working knowledge of MS Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), MS Visio or other graphical flow chart programs
