The IT Operational Execution Intern will support the IT operations of the company, including assisting in the implementation of new systems and processes; utilizing tools to create dashboards and share information; tracking progress of IT tasks, artifacts, budgets; managing software and hardware assets; providing technical support. The intern will work closely with cross-functional teams to monitor operations, and analyze data to identify areas of improvement. This internship requires year-round availability while attending  school full time. This internship has a 3-month probationary period, an anticipated 1-year assignment and the possibility to continue until graduation. Hours are  flexible but students must be able to work 20 hours/week during the school year and up to 40 hours/week during summer. Workdays are flexible to accommodate student schedules within normal business hours.
As part of the IT Operational Execution team, the intern will partner with the business to develop processes and standards to enable the teams to function efficiently, increase collaboration, use lean principles.

Responsibilities:

Support the implementation of new IT systems and processes

Assist in the development of standard operating procedures and work instructions for IT operations

Conduct data analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement in IT operations

Communicate & collaborate with the IT team and cross-functional teams to minimize waste & rework and help ensure no gap in operations

Prepare reports and presentations to communicate key performance indicators and project updates

Help train users in processes, and coordinate IT activities

Participate in cross-functional teams to support IT projects and initiatives

Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Full-time student status in a 2-year or 4-year program with a major in Information Technology, Business or related field

Identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions

Views problems as opportunities and can adapt quickly to new or changing business circumstances. 

Eagerly and proactively seek new information, skills, and experiences, capitalizing on learning opportunities. 

Works effectively with others to coordinate efforts and produce results in a positive work environment.  

Motivated to leverage key learnings and experiences to grow your own career while contributing to the growth of Trane Technologies. 

Proficiency in capturing requirements, designing, testing, and implementing information systems while providing guidance for business process re-engineering and analyzing change impacts. 

Proactively partners with internal customers to establish alignment and high-performance results in a manner that is open, collaborative, and impactful. 

U.S. citizen or have the legal right to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship now or in the future 

Key Competencies:

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Excellent written and oral communication and collaboration skills with good interpersonal skills and the ability to express concepts and ideas with clarity.

Familiarity with IT systems and operations

Project management, time management, planning, organizational, and analytical skills are required.

Knowledge of networking, cybersecurity, and data backup and recovery principles

Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and other relevant software tools

Ability to learn quickly and work independently with minimal supervision.

Must be able to work on multiple projects at once and effectively prioritize tasks

Compensation:    

Base Pay Range: $21.00 – 30.00  

This base pay range is based on US national averages. Actual base pay could be a result of seniority, merit, geographic location where the work is performed. 

Annual Base Salary Range or Hourly Base Pay Range:

$18.00 - $26.50
