Position Summary AutoZone is looking for a technology leader in our Digital Commerce Portfolio. We are on a journey to transform our Digital Commerce Platform- as an IT Manager specializing in software development on the Retail Digital Platform Engineering team, you will be responsible for managing and leading a team of engineers in developing Digital Commerce and/or Search capabilities and collaborating with other teams in building a comprehensive Omni-Channel experience for our customers. A successful candidate will have a background in building and operating large scale Digital Commerce and search capabilities and hands-on approach to leading software development, great project management and communication skills and an eagerness to grow with a team as they take on increasing responsibility. The IT Manager(Engineering) will work closely with the business leaders, understand short and long-term business goals, and collaborate on plans to achieve those goals by delivering leading-edge systems using best-in-class SDLC and a highly motivated team. Deliver the organizational goals aligning with the retail strategy. Key Responsibilities + Leads teams in the development, implementation, and support of the systems for a best-in-class online experience + Understands the systems/applications that his/her team develops technologically/functionally, aligns with a technical roadmap of the department & AutoZone, works with the team to continuously inspect the current state, and brings innovative ideas to improve. makes sure the architecture/design decisions taken by the team are aligning to AutoZone standards keeping in mind performance, scalability, resiliency, etc. + Develops technical talent and leadership capabilities in team members and ensures a highly motivated team through coaching and mentoring focusing on accountability & ownership. + Implements systems to maximize usability, accessibility, and customer experience. Leverages internal and external APIs, databases, and other data sources + Oversees the scheduling, control, and progress of system design, development, and installation activities + Develops trusted and open relationships with key business partners at Manager and Director levels and works closely with and manages vendor partner relationships + Coordinates between internal and external resources, ensuring effective communication between all groups and individuals involved in projects + Leads all projects under the rules and guidelines of the Project Management Office (PMO). Ensures all PMO documentation is produced to high standards + Oversees project financials and ensures adherence to AutoZone’s fiscal policies Education Requirements and Experience + Bachelor's degree in MIS, Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent required + Minimum of 12 - 15 years total experience in IT development with 5 years developing web/mobile/webservices with high volume customer-facing 24/7 applications + Minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience in a managerial position in a technology group with a proven track record for business capability delivery and talent development + Hands-on experience developing systems using web applications/mobile application/webservice technologies on Middleware like WebLogic / JBoss / Apache/Tomcat using Oracle/Postgres RDBMS in a Unix / Linux environment. + Experience in leading the teams working on MACH (Microservices, APIs-first, Cloud-native, and Headless) architecture using Java, Spring boot will be beneficial + Experience with developing and managing applications across multiple data centers is a plus + Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, problem-solving and analytical skills, including the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts and designs to a broad range of people + Strong experience in using Agile (Scrum / Kanban / SAFe) project development methodologies + Willingness to learn and adapt to changing business and technology landscapes + Must have a contagious work ethics; including high sense of urgency to resolve issues quickly, creatively and efficiently.
