1. Responsible for Hotel IT Security and Firewalls.
2. Maintain an up-to-date inventory of all computer hardware.
3. Manages the configuration reports, job control languages, program files, and data files on the computer system(s) to ensure maximum operating efficiency
4. Monitors the performance of the software and maintains a logbook of performance reports eg; through systems measurement facility/utility, error and integrity check reports, system malfunction, and solutions.
5. Investigates and reports software problems to the software/service provider.
6. Understand all standard customized features and functions of the hotel front office system, point of sale system, and call accounting system, including, but not limited to system security, system reports, manager functions, system utilities, and user functions.
7. Establishes documents, test, and communicates appropriate disaster recovery emergency procedures to follow when the hotel computer system(s) are inoperable
8. Ensures that all computer media saves and back-ups are completed, documented, and stored per the standard specifications.
9. Maintains uncompromising data and physical security standards.
10. Controls the key/lock for the computer room and ensures that the computer room fire protection, temperature control, and power requirements meet the IHG security specification as described in The Standard Hotels security system
11. Administer all user IDs, passwords, and the most sensitive system utilities, secures all touchy resources and critical libraries
12. Maintains technical and user documentation, systems report, newsletters, and announcements in a neat, orderly, and secure fashion
13. Completes and distributes activity reports, program trouble reports, and enhancement list
14. Keeps Informed of the latest, updated, changes, enhancements, and development in the hotel computer field by subscribing to periodicals and attending seminars, workshops, or conferences held by The Standard hotels, computer companies, or vendors
15. Performs basic changes to program control languages using screen edit utilities, operating control languages statements, and screen design aid.
16. Responsible for smooth functioning and coordination of vendors for Guest Internet, Property Management Systems - PMS, Point of Sale - POS, IPTV, Telephony systems, and other software vendors.
17. Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software problems.
18. Responsible for overseeing and handling network configuration, Servers, Workstations, Networking equipment, PABX, email accounts, and also support for the underlying server/desktop infrastructure.
19. Should be capable of doing Root Cause Analysis on a problem.
20. Must know the Network fundamentals, general network setup and device configuration.
21. Good knowledge of server hardware, Disk storage technology, I/O devices.
22. Skilled in usage of system level profiling tools and network monitoring systems to aid in application performance profiling.
23. Knowledge of network infrastructure, including CAT5/6 cabling, wireless networks, network switches, WAN/LAN, domain controller, Active Directory, firewall, and VPN applications.
24. Background in highly available systems and image capture/management systems.
25. Extensive knowledge of Active Directory, Management, and Implementations.
26. Prepare Implement a Preventive Maintenance Schedule for all IT hardware Software.
27. Manage leadership in the establishment of project scope, technical strategy, cost, Budget, and staff support requirements with new IT initiatives.
28. Prepare Policy Procedures for the IT Department and for the user department.
29. Managing Disaster Recovery Process and ensuring regular daily backup is taken.
30. Anti-virus setup and day-to-day support.
31. Able to plan, assign and take the report from the IT team.
32. Identifies and implements solutions to user challenges and concerns associated with the use of personal computer equipment.
33. Ensure that policies and procedures relating to PCI compliance are updated.
34. Maintains a system error/progress logbook and deals with reported problems.
35. Responsible to ensure that IT Audit points are implemented as per relevant Standard Operating Procedures.
