What will you do?
The GMIT Manufacturing OPS Specialist / LAN position has on-site support responsibility for all IT related functions by performing activities pertaining to information technology and business unit objectives in a GM Manufacturing Facility. More specifically, this role will perform tasks requiring on-site support for basic and intermediate level requests for applications, IT devices, maintain & configure network devices and infrastructure support per the responsibilities listed. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is required.
Responsibilities
Perform all IT Operations Specialist responsibilitiesSupport GM managed LAN and WAN network infrastructure HardwareSupport Wireless network and end device configuration / replacementSupport the GM managed Supplier networkSupport GM DAS network and plant radio systemSupport VoIP and analog phone devicesInterface with plant engineering / maintenance for network support including the IECN networkInterface to the plant business personnel, outside vendors, launch teams, as well as the Global Telecom engineering staffPerform and Support network Change Controls as requiredMaintain plant network and device documentationTroubleshoot all network incidents and device issuesPerform CISCO switch, AP and WhereNet hardware configuration / replacementConfigure network switch ports for IT devicesSupport infrastructure project assigned tasksComplete plant network ticket requestsMaintain IP addresses and DDI entriesManage assigned network projects Manage Cornerstone network itemsMaintain asset management for network equipment including network sparesMaintain all monitoring tools to ensure all devices are being monitored and notifications are in place.Work Appropriately
On Site: This position requires to work on site on a full-time basis
Education or equivalent experience
Systems Engineering, Telematics Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.3 years of IT experience (preferred)Manufacturing experience (preferred)Experience including WAN/LAN and wireless areas of experienceCCNA (preferred)All IT Operations Specialist Education or Equivalent ExperienceExperience in comprehensive network services and networksIn-depth experience and practical knowledge of networking systems including WAN, LAN, firewalls, routers, switches, servers, APs and IT end devicesEnglish proficiency at a conversational levelDesired Competencies/Skills
Process all IT Operations Specialist competencies/ skillsExperienced with Cisco routers, switches, and wireless access pointsExperienced with Layer 1-4 Switching and Routing troubleshooting skillsExperienced with wireless systemsExperienced with IT Security implementationsExperienced with networking toolsExperienced with VLANs, NAT/PAT, VPNs, IPSec, and TCP/IP protocolsExperienced with data, video, and voice servicesExperience with data analytics, dashboard development, and AI agent/model implementation (nice to have).In case you need any reasonable adjustment to continue with your process, let your recruiter know.
