**Job Description**
**What will you do?**
The GMIT Manufacturing OPS Specialist / LAN position has on-site support responsibility for all IT related functions by performing activities pertaining to information technology and business unit objectives in a GM Manufacturing Facility. More specifically, this role will perform tasks requiring on-site support for basic and intermediate level requests for applications, IT devices, maintain & configure network devices and infrastructure support per the responsibilities listed. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is required.
**Responsibilities**
+ Perform all IT Operations Specialist responsibilities
+ Support GM managed LAN and WAN network infrastructure Hardware
+ Support Wireless network and end device configuration / replacement
+ Support the GM managed Supplier network
+ Support GM DAS network and plant radio system
+ Support VoIP and analog phone devices
+ Interface with plant engineering / maintenance for network support including the IECN network
+ Interface to the plant business personnel, outside vendors, launch teams, as well as the Global Telecom engineering staff
+ Perform and Support network Change Controls as required
+ Maintain plant network and device documentation
+ Troubleshoot all network incidents and device issues
+ Perform CISCO switch, AP and WhereNet hardware configuration / replacement
+ Configure network switch ports for IT devices
+ Support infrastructure project assigned tasks
+ Complete plant network ticket requests
+ Maintain IP addresses and DDI entries
+ Manage assigned network projects
+ Manage Cornerstone network items
+ Maintain asset management for network equipment including network spares
+ Maintain all monitoring tools to ensure all devices are being monitored and notifications are in place.
**Work Appropriately**
On Site: This position requires to work on site on a full-time basis
**Education or equivalent experience**
+ Systems Engineering, Telematics Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
+ 3 years of IT experience (preferred)
+ Manufacturing experience (preferred)
+ Experience including WAN/LAN and wireless areas of experience
+ CCNA (preferred)
+ All IT Operations Specialist Education or Equivalent Experience
+ Experience in comprehensive network services and networks
+ In-depth experience and practical knowledge of networking systems including WAN, LAN, firewalls, routers, switches, servers, APs and IT end devices
+ English proficiency at a conversational level
**Desired Competencies/Skills**
+ Process all IT Operations Specialist competencies/ skills
+ Experienced with Cisco routers, switches, and wireless access points
+ Experienced with Layer 1-4 Switching and Routing troubleshooting skills
+ Experienced with wireless systems
+ Experienced with IT Security implementations
+ Experienced with networking tools
+ Experienced with VLANs, NAT/PAT, VPNs, IPSec, and TCP/IP protocols
+ Experienced with data, video, and voice services
+ Experience with data analytics, dashboard development, and AI agent/model implementation (nice to have).
