IT Internship- Spring/Summer 2026
**Job Description** The BAE Systems IT Internship Program provides a broad and integrated understanding of enterprise level service delivery. The program consists of a 12-week hands-on experience with mentors and Service Leaders. There are multiple positions available to fulfill the following skillsets: software development, building reusable automation, system architecture, data engineering, software development, graphic user interface design, end to end user experience, and other project related work. As an intern you will participate in our nationwide Internship & Co-Op Program, LEAP, where you will have the opportunity to Learn, Engage, Apply, and Progress within the company. This is an internship during the summer of 2026, and interns should expect the duration to be 12 weeks. Based on performance during the summer session, and with the discretion of the leadership team, there is a possibility of extending the internship to part time during the school year. The Internship consists of the following components + Program Length Immediate opening part time (Spring 2026) transitioning to 12 week commitment in the summer. + Part Time- Immediate through May 25th, 2026 + Full Time Internship Dates May 26th August 14th, 2026 + Hybrid work environment with 3 days per week onsite at a BAE Systems site of Falls Church, VA. + Student Status Rising Junior, Senior, Recent Graduate (within one year) or Graduate Student (Graduating May or Dec.) + Compensation The internship is paid on an hourly basis. **Job Summary** We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented internship candidate to assist with several projects aimed at improving knowledge management and streamlining access requests within our organization. The successful candidate will play a key role in transitioning knowledge sources into a centralized platform, enhancing our SharePoint site as a landing page, and automating access requests. This internship provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in knowledge management, automation, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. **Key Responsibilities** + **Transition Knowledge Sources:** + Assist in migrating knowledge sources from various platforms (Wiki, OneNote, SharePoint, File shares, etc.) into a single, centralized area (ServiceNow KB). + Ensure accuracy and completeness of migrated knowledge sources. + Collaborate with stakeholders to validate the migrated content. + **Enhance SharePoint Site as a Landing Page:** + Assist in designing and implementing a SharePoint site as a landing page for roadmaps and services. + Ensure the site is user-friendly, easily navigable, and visually appealing. + Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and feedback. + **Automated Access Requests:** + Work with Business Analysts (BAs) to automate Active Directory (AD) access requests in ServiceNow. + Assist in designing and testing automation workflows. + Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure seamless integration with existing systems. **What We Offer** + Knowledge of managing a large Engineering Tools portfolio + Opportunity to work on complex process flows with several key stakeholders + Collaborative and dynamic work environment + Professional growth and development opportunities **Required Education, Experience, & Skills** + Major Degree Computer Science / Information Technology + Experience with documentation tools such as Word, Visio, and SysML/PlantUML (or willingness to learn) + Familiarity with collaboration platforms such as SharePoint, Teams, or similar tools + Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills + Student Status Rising Junior, Senior, Recent Graduate (within one year) or Graduate Student (Graduating May or Dec.) **Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills** Well qualified candidates contain some of the following skills: + Development experience in at least one scripting language (R, Python, Bash, Java, PowerShell, etc.) + Update and validate the Software install\\support documents + Familiarity Software development lifecycle to: gather requirements, refine design, build, verify build and validate build + Familiarity with eDirectory, Identity Management Concepts, DevSecOps Environments, Linux OS, or Active Directory + Ability to multi-task and reprioritize work, as required, to meet dynamic customer service environment. **Pay Information** Full-Time Salary Range: $49592 - $68993 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience. Temporary employees generally are not eligible for BAE Systems benefits, but can elect to participate in the 401(k) savings plan.
