IT Instructor
Job Description We are seeking a skilled IT Instructor to work onsite in Petaluma, CA. The instructor will deliver classroom and hands-on training, ensure students meet course objectives, and evaluate their understanding and performance. Prepare classrooms and training equipment; perform basic maintenance as needed. Deliver instruction in accordance with USCG standards across classroom, lab, seminar, and practical exercise environments. Incorporate relevant lessons learned, updated procedures, and evolving Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) into instruction. Assess student performance, conduct critiques, identify strengths and weaknesses, and schedule remedial training or retests as needed. Maintain class status reports and review student records for progression. Grade written tests, performance evaluations, and homework assignments. Prepare required training records and documentation in accordance with USCG TRACEN policies. Participate in instructor evaluations and apply feedback to improve instructional effectiveness. Support performance‑based computer training, including troubleshooting, hardware/software upgrades, backups, and equipment replacement. Skills and Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. Two years of experience as a primary classroom instructor. CompTIA A+ or Network+ certification. Ability to pass a background check. Subject matter expertise in: • Data network hardware/software • Client/server environments • Microsoft products • Helpdesk operations • Use of test equipment for computer maintenance • System administration/network maintenance procedures • Electrical safety • CPR Ability to perform duties requiring moderate lifting (up to 45 lbs.) and extended periods of standing, sitting, or walking. x
