Cloud System Administrator

SUMMARY OF ROLE AND OBJECTIVES:
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Cloud System Administrator to manage and maintain our hybrid cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Windows and Linux operating systems, VMware vSphere, infrastructure automation tools like Terraform and Ansible, and a strong background in patch management. This role is critical to ensuring system reliability, security, and scalability across our cloud and on-prem environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Administer and maintain Windows and Linux servers in cloud and on-prem environments.
Manage and optimize VMware vSphere infrastructure, including virtual machines, hosts, clusters, and storage.
Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Terraform and Ansible.
Implement and manage patching strategies across all systems to ensure compliance and security.
Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and perform root cause analysis.
Collaborate with Security, and Application teams to support deployment pipelines and secure configurations, fix vulnerabilities.
Maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and policies.
Participate in disaster recovery planning and execution.
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Proven experience with Windows Server and Linux (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu) administration.
• Strong expertise in VMware vSphere (ESXi, vCenter, vMotion, DRS, HA).
• Proficiency in Terraform and Ansible for infrastructure as code and configuration management.
• Solid understanding of patch management tools and processes (WSUS, Red Hat Satellite, etc.).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is a plus.
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals, firewalls, and security best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and documentation abilities.

• Must have certification in Microsoft/Vmware ( Azure Cloud would be good to have)
