IT Financial Analyst

**Position Summary**
This role is responsible for leading the Information Systems (IS) annual budget process and overseeing the monthly financial close cycle for all IS departments. The position manages 250+ ongoing hardware and software maintenance contracts, coordinates the company’s IS capital budget, and ensures compliance with financial policies and procedures. This individual will serve as a critical business partner to the IS leadership team, enabling data-driven decision-making through financial transparency, performance metrics, and strategic insight. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable navigating both the technical and financial aspects of a large-scale IT organization.
**Key Responsibilities**
**Budgeting & Financial Management**
+ Serve as the primary point of contact for all technology related expenses, where it is capital or operational expenses
+ Coordinate with the Director of Budget and their team to ensure accurate budgeting and reporting
+ Lead the development of the annual IS Budget for both capital and operating budgets by collaborating with all leads and department heads within the Organization
+ Provide monthly financial analysis and reporting to IT leadership, including mid-month and month-end summaries
+ Identify, investigate, and resolve budget discrepancies throughout the monthly close cycle
**Financial Controls & Policy**
+ Define, recommend, and implement financial policies and procedures for all IS departments
+ Ensure IS compliance with financial management processes (purchasing, AP, GL, budgeting)
+ Act as a liaison between IS and Finance functions such as Budget Management, Fixed Assets, AP, AR, and Financial Reporting
**Contract & Vendor Management**
+ Oversee and coordinate timely renewals of all hardware and software maintenance contracts
+ Maintain and update annual contract budget files, reviewing for accuracy and identifying savings opportunities
**Procurement & Asset Management Support**
+ Support the IS Procurement Specialist by learning the Ariba procurement platform
+ Assist in resolving procurement issues and take corrective action when necessary
+ Serve as a backup for procurement and IT asset management functions
+ Partner with Procurement to manage IS vendor contracts, pricing negotiations, and spend optimization opportunities.
**Strategic Support & Governance:**
+ Support IS portfolio management and prioritization processes by evaluating project funding requests and alignment with strategic goals.
+ Ensure adherence to capital versus expense accounting standards in project budgeting.
**Reporting & Communication:**
+ Prepare and present regular financial reports, dashboards, and executive summaries to CIO, CFO, and other senior stakeholders.
+ Drive adoption of financial management tools, systems, and processes to improve visibility and control over IS expenditures.
**Minimum Qualifications**
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
+ Strong understanding of core financial processes (purchasing, accounts payable, general ledger, budgeting, payroll)
+ Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
+ Proficiency in working independently and collaboratively across departments
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Experience in project or budget management
+ Knowledge of system documentation and process mapping
+ Exposure to Ariba, or similar procurement platforms
+ Understanding of software licensing and compliance processes
+ Prior experience in a corporate IS or IT finance function
